Sovereign Global train the EU mission in Ukraine

17/09/16 The Sovereign Global group is continuing to develop its medical assistance and support services in complex environments, consistent with its growth strategy.  A year after its first medical contract (won by Sovereign Global France with SOS Medecin Senegal) providing the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response with aeromedical evacuation services from Bissau Guinea and Sierra Leone, Sovereign Global is now delivering its first medical training programmes for the European Union in Ukraine.

Sovereign Global UK and the specialist training division ‘The Training Wing’ (TTW) are British subsidiaries of the Sovereign Global group.  Together, they are delivering first responder medical training to the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine).  The team of specialist instructors deployed to Kiev in early September 2015 to support the Headquarters and field staff who are deployed there.

TTW, an internationally accredited training company, then awarded each student with the “Level 2 First Person on Scene – Intermediate level” certificate.

Simon Presekar, an EU Mission Security Officer, stressed the quality of the training delivered: ‘The training was excellent from start to finish.  The realistic scenarios really tested the students and highlighted the challenges of applying first aid techniques in high pressure situations’.

Jordan Wylie, a Director at Sovereign Global UK said “It was a great pleasure to work with all the staff at the EUAM Ukraine.  They came from very diverse backgrounds including senior personnel from civil, military and police services from around Europe.  This diversity meant that the training needed to be relevant to all participants, but the enthusiasm shown by the course resulted in their overall skills and techniques being significantly refreshed and improved over the training period.”

The Sovereign Global team will return to the Ukraine in October to train the next batch of students at EUAM Ukraine.
