14/12/14 Entry into force of a contract between Sovereign Global France and the Republic of Congo for the training of its MINUSCA contingent
On December 12th 2014 the Minister at the Presidency of the Republic of Congo in charge of National Defence, M. Charles Richard Mondjo, signed with Sovereign Global France (SGF) a contract providing Congo with a complete assistance and support programme for the preparation and the equipment of its contingent for the United Nations mission in Central Africa Republic (MINUSCA).
Today, this contract enters into force with the first payment from the Republic of Congo.
SGF will provide preparation and the complete equipment on U.N. standards for the 750-strong infantry battalion and the 140-strong Formed Police Unit (FPU), to be deployed by Spring 2015 in the Central Africa Republic (CAR).
The Republic of Congo is the third Troop and Police Contributing Country (T/PCC), with Gabon and Mauritania, to trust SGF with the preparation of its MINUSCA contingent. In total SGF will prepare and equip for MINUSCA Two infantry battalions, one reserve battalion and two FPUs, totalling 2,200 peacekeepers.
SGF will mobilise its expert teams in Brazzaville, Paris, Bangui and New York with more than 20 SGF personnel participating in this three-strand programme:
Assistance and advice to the Congolese Ministry of Defence in its relations with the UN to prepare, undertake and follow the battalion’s deployment;
Preparation of the infantry battalion and the FPU, delivery of their entire equipment for their projection in CAR;
Specialised support and advice services during the UN inspections in Congo as well as in CAR, and for the operational maintenance of the equipment on the theatre of operation.
