100 Graduates of the SG F & France Médias Monde HEAT programme

02/05/2016 Sovereign Global France (SG F), subsidiary of the Sovereign Global Group, is delighted to have trained its 100th graduate of the SG ‘Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT)’ programme that is delivered in partnership with the Academy of France Médias Monde at the SG F training center in St Astier, France.

The intensive 6-day programme which prepares media professionals including journalists, reporters, camera crews, sound technicians and photographers for deployment to hostile, complex and remote environments is at the forefront of specialist training for these highly skilled professionals, who often put their lives at risk to bring us the latest news coverage from around the world.

The training programme covers an array of subjects which have been specifically designed to the media professionals respective area of operations and each course follows a bespoke syllabus that includes training in first aid and remote medicine, mines and IED awareness, conflict management, weapon recognition and capability, personal protective equipment, dynamic risk assessments, cultural awareness, hostage situations and many more topics that are critical to ensuring the safety and security of an international media professional.

The training programme which attracts personnel from media organisations such as France 24, Radio France Internationale, Radio Monte Carlo Doualiya, Canal Plus, RMC/BFMTV and Le Monde to name just a few and has more recently gained interest from media organisations in the UK and other parts of Europe takes place at the Sovereign Global Training Center in Saint Astier which is used by military units, law enforcement personnel, NGO’s and many other public and private organisations from across the world and is renowned for its excellence in the provision of a realistic scenario based training environment, that also allows for ‘full bore’ live fire scenarios.
